Having owned a vertical jig distributor business, I can honestly tell you which jigs work and which jigs do not, along with what colors work and what colors do not work.  All present day vertical jigs are based on old styles of jigs that have changed names over the years. 

I can not help you with slow pitch jigging, because I am personally not a fan, just saying.
